For backs nothing else has fixed

This is the chair for people who have given up on office chairs.

People with back problems often come to us having tried everything – ergonomic chairs, orthopaedic chairs, expensive chairs – and still can't get through a working day without pain. The 7 Series comfort seat is where we send them. In our experience, it has worked every time, and it's the chair they stay in.

It comes down to three things office chairs don't do:

Support all the way down. Many office chairs leave a gap between seat and backrest at the waistline, so your pelvis rolls back and your lower back slumps. Here the backrest meets the cushion, supporting your pelvis and keeping your spine in its natural curve – the posture research links to less pain during long spells of sitting.
Recline with the lumbar supported. Studies of seated spinal load, car seats included, found disc pressure and back-muscle effort lowest with the backrest reclined to around 110–130° and the lumbar supported. This seat does both, electrically.
Your thighs take more of the weight. The extendable thigh support moves more of your weight forward onto your legs, which research shows reduces load and muscle effort in the lower back.

Then there's the adjustment: four-way electric lumbar, upper backrest angle, backrest width, thigh extension, seat tilt and recline, all changed while you sit. We don't know of any office chair with more adjustment.

The 7 Series comfort seat is the opposite of a bucket seat. It offers an open, softly bolstered profile, and because the backrest width and thigh support are adjustable, it fits itself to you rather than asking you to fit it.

It is well suited to people who:

Seat condition

You're getting the exact chair shown in the pictures. The seat has seen some wear, which is why we offer it at a reduced price.

Seat padding: 10/10 – no signs of any sagging or wear
Leather condition: 7/10 – worn-through reflective piping, creasing from use
Trims: 9/10

The seat still looks great and provides very good comfort.

Dimensions & weight

Width: The 7 series chair measures 70 cm at its widest point (armrests).
Length: The distance from the front of the seat to the back of the headrest varies with sitting angle, ranging from approximately 70 - 90 cm.
Height: Minimum distance from the floor to the highest point of the seat base cushion at the front is approximately 48 cm.
Weight: The chair weighs about 40 kg.

Warranty

We stand by our engineering. If any part of your chair has an issue, we’ll make it right – quickly, at no cost to you, and with minimal hassle.

Your chair is backed by a 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

The one exception is the battery on electric chairs. It’s a consumable: if it’s run down below its minimum voltage, it fails. Swapping it takes about 10 minutes and four bolts, and we can supply a replacement for £30.

Returns

Changed your mind? You have 30 days from delivery. We’ll arrange collection by courier at a time that suits you and deduct £100 from your refund to cover the return shipping. The chair must be in the condition it arrived in.
