Ferrari's Turning Point

The 488 GTB replaced the 458 and put a turbocharger behind the driver for the first time since the F40. 670 horsepower, three seconds to 62mph, and a car Ferrari clearly expected owners to actually use.

Two seats were offered. The carbon racing bucket, and this one - the standard comfort seat. Testers who expected it to be firm and under-padded found the opposite. It wraps rather than clamps, holding you through corners without pinching at the hips.

That is exactly what you want under you at a desk.

Ex-showroom, so it never covered a mile in service.

Ferrari made this the seat for people who drive the car rather than admire it.

That logic needed very little translation.

The chair retains the seat's original electric recline and adds an office-grade mechanism beneath it, powered by an on-board battery so nothing runs to a wall socket.

The same shell Ferrari carried over into the F8 Tributo. The comfort seat is the more open of the two 488 options, and once it's on our base the low, cramped-cabin objections that push tall drivers towards the carbon bucket stop applying.

Seat condition

You're getting the exact chair shown in the pictures! The seat comes from a Ferrari showroom where it was displayed as a demo in the configuration room. It is in immaculate condition with no signs of wear.

Seat padding: 10/10 – New
Leather condition: 10/10 – New
Trims: 9/10 – A few small, barely noticeable indents

Dimensions & weight

Width: The 488 GTB chair measures 70 cm at its widest point (armrests).
Length: The distance from the front of the seat to the back of the headrest varies with sitting angle, ranging from approximately 70 - 90 cm.
Height: Minimum distance from the floor to the highest point of the seat base cushion at the front is approximately 48 cm.
Weight: The chair weighs about 40 kg.
